New Delhi, Dec 26: Reliance Jio will provide "surprise cashback" of up to Rs 3,300 on recharges of Rs 399 and above, effective on recharges before January 15, 2018, according to industry sources.
This cashback will be in the form of Rs 400 MyJio cashback vouchers, up to Rs 300 instant cashback vouchers from wallets and up to Rs 2,600 discount vouchers from e-commerce players.
This is in addition to the two new plans that the company had launched under its Happy New Year 2018 on Friday night with higher data benefits for its subscribers.
New Delhi, Dec 27 Updating its budget Redmi series, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A (2GB RAM variant) for Rs 5,999 in India.
The company also offered an additional discount of Rs 1,000 for the first five million customers who choose the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM variant, effectively bringing down its price to Rs 4,999.
The smartphone also comes in a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage version that will retail at Rs 6,999.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset and houses a 3,000mAh battery.
E-commerce giant Flipkart will hold a special sale of the smartphone on 28th December from 12pm onwards, where buyers will be able to buy this smartphone in just Rs 4,999.
"Offering up to eight days of standby time, Redmi 5A is a successor to the hugely-popular Redmi 4A," said Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India, in a statement.
San Francisco, Dec 30: Apple has filed a patent application with the US Patent and Trademark Office that will reportedly let the user set up wireless charging transfers in a particular order so that their iPhone gets power first, followed by Apple Watch and then the iPad.
The Radio Frequency (RF) based long-range wireless charging is on the lines of wireless power developer Energous that has been recently granted consumer safety certification for its wireless charging technology by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
"The US Patent and Trademark Office published a pair of patent applications from Apple that relates to wireless power transfers and a unique scheduling system," Patently Apple reported on Friday.
"Apple's patent notes that the system is 'configured to wirelessly transmit power over the wireless power transfer link'," the report added.
New Delhi, Jan 5: In a bid to make 4G smartphones affordable to consumers, telecom services provider Bharti Airtel on Friday announced cashback offers worth up to Rs 1,500 on China-based Transsion Holdings' itel smartphones. This offer is being seen as Airtel's effort to counter aggressive marketing by Jio
"Customers will get a cashback benefit of Rs 1,500 on itel A40 4G and itel A41 smartphones. Both smartphones will come bundled with a monthly recharge pack of Rs 169 from Airtel," Airtel said in a statement.
itel A40 smartphone will be now available at Rs 3,099 (earlier price Rs 4,599) while the itel A41 will now cost Rs 3,199 (earlier price Rs 4,699).
Buyers will have to make payment of Rs 4,599 for the itel A40 and Rs 4,699 for the itel A41 an the cashback worth Rs 1,500 will be given to them over a period of 36 months.
"Users who have made recharges worth Rs 3,000 will be eligible for the first cashback of Rs 500 at the end of 18 months," the company added.
They will get another cashback of Rs 1,000 if they complete another set of recharges worth Rs 3,000 over the next 18 months.
